Lab Rats had a stunning finale to s2, it was funny but more importantly it turned the tables. Now Davenport and the Lab Rats have their backs to the wall, can they fight against the insurmountable odds? Anyone else thinking of Joker War right now? Series 3 and 4 have more plot-necessary episodes than their predecessors, so this might be a longer review than the first. I’m going to skip over the Lab Rats vs Mighty Med Episode and talk about the full 2-parter in my Mighty Med Retrospective in a couple of months.

TV Retrospective - Lab Rats Seasons 1 and 2

It’s time to do another retrospective on a Disney Sitcom, in the build-up to something for the 7^th anniversary. So for the next 2 weeks (yes, this is a 2-parter, the show’s got nearly 100 episodes) we’ll be looking at Lab Rats

Lab Rats in principle is something I should be quite interested in, and is the Brainchild of Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore, guys who are very experienced working together, being co-producers on ‘That 70’s show’ then being producers on TV movies. The show ran for 4 seasons and a total of 89 episodes, each season is different in length, it’s weird.

I’ll tackle Lab Rats the same way I tackled Austin and Ally, I’ll give a rundown of the opening episodes, then cover any important developments, new characters or anything worthy of discussion for the rest of seasons 1 and 2. I may also bring up some stuff to make points about next time.

We’ve got more dragons to train and if you think I’m rushing through these episodes a bit it’s only because I am, we’re wrapping up the old and bringing out the new this year. So let’s get started, when we last left Hiccup and the gang defeated Viggo but not all was well as the Edge’s volcano has erupted.

#81 - Doctor Who - Orphan 55

It’s 2021 and time once again for a New Year’s Look at Doctor Who

Series 12 of the show introduced some brave new ideas, some of which are major retcons to the show’s ever-changing history. They introduced the latest incarnation of the Master, did some interesting bits with the Cybermen and there are a couple of interesting historical ones.

But whilst many s12 episodes divided opinion, one that definitely didn’t was Orphan 55, everyone seems to agree this episode is bad. The writer Ed Hime has only the bare minimum of writing experience, but does have It Takes Your Away on his IMDb which was a pretty good episode of series 11, so why did this one really not work? Well, let’s take a closer look.
